Fang's Beer Deals

Hi I'm Fang and I like beer

But I refuse to pay more than 50p for a bottle or a can of beer.

Can we start putting any good deals on here so that we can all share in the alcoholic goodness and save some money at the same time.

I'll start with:- 24 bottles of Budweiser for 12 quid.

C'mon people beat that. Start listing and reduce your beer taxes.

If we all stick together we can drive these prices down.

    "I like beer"

Why, then, are you buying Budweiser?

Refusing to pay more than 50p a can / bottle will leave you drinking rubbish a lot.

You'd be more accurate in saying "I like drinking" than "I like beer".

You can't often get decent bitter for less than £1 a can/bottle, but I'd rather pay £1.50 to drink something I actually like instead of drinking the thing they now call boddingtons or the thing they call john smiths.

For lager, whilst the cheap stuff might have its place as a thirst quencher, there is so much more flavour in some of the better drinks, so why restrict yourself?

Meh.....If you wanted real quality you should buy your own land, employ your own people and get them to make you the greatest using only the best ingredients and each pint served with a side-dish of cooked Dodo-meat .

Unfortunately most of us don't have the pockets to do that.

The mass market beers do well because they are aimed to sell at the mass market even though most of them to be honest are not great. The whole point of this thread is simply paying the cheapest for that stuff. Why pay £1 a bottle of Budweiser in retailer A when next door its 50p.

Where do you draw the line as to the snobbery?
I like the odd ale myself.
Should i turn my nose up at the pretty decent selection in my supermarket thats on 3 for £5 on account that they are now mass market and only buy direct from a local brewery?
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.

Erm yeah cos I said you should pay 15x as much as the OP suggested.
And, suggesting that spending based on value (and a value of $1-$1.50 for bottle of bitter at that) makes me a snob? Or did I just make a point about value of buying?

There's no point drinking something you don't enjoy at 50p a can/bottle if you could drink something you will enjoy at 55p a bottle.

But feel free to spiral off into wild extremes if it makes you happy.
Not that your point makes much sense when I refer to £1.50 bottles as potential value but you say paying £5 for 3 must be below me. All in your head I think.

Well personally I don't drink a pricepoint, I drink a liquid. If i like it i would try to see where i could get it cheapest.
Take that hypothetical £1.50 drink you like, would it taste any worse if you found a place doing it on offer for £1.10?
    Hence looking for value.
Works the other way too. If you found it at £2.50 it would not taste any better, chances are you would go back to the £1.50 places.

The OP clearly likes the mass produced lagers. What wrong with the OP trying to get it as cheap as possible? Money-Saving-Expert-.com Two clear words in the title: Money saving.....

One unclear word in the title, *beer*...
If the OP wants cheap mass-market tasteless lager, they should really have specified that :)

Don't know if Cider will count. However, 2 litre bottle of perfectly nice 5.3% dry cider in Aldi for £1.99. (Apparently you can't pay for it by credit card however, except in Berwick!)

    beer

    1. an alcoholic beverage made by brewing and fermentation from cereals, usually malted barley, and flavored with hops and the like for a slightly bitter taste.

    2. any of various beverages, whether alcoholic or not, made from roots, molasses or sugar, yeast, etc.: root beer; ginger beer.

    3. an individual serving of beer; a glass, can, or bottle of beer: We'll have three beers.

If people don't buy alcohol for 50p a can or bottle than this thread is clearly not for them. Leave it to those that do.

Would be interesting if those who feel they drink more superior drink to start another thread and not have a 'beers deal' thread bogged down with what's great or not so we could all just contribute to the thread about deals and choose to buy or not. Adding personal opinions on superiority of drinks that someone takes time and effort to post about is disrespectful in my opinion. But then it's easy to be rude online!!
