London removal companies

Can anyone suggest/recommend a way to locate a "good" removal company in London?

Assuming our move goes ahead (yet to exchange so anything could happen between now and then) we would only be moving one street over.

I'd like to do my research in advance so that I know who to speak to once we have exchanged and set a completion date. I've heard some horror stories so want to make sure we pick a company we can trust.

Thanks :)

Can recommend Inline Removals (have used them a few times now).

East London/Essex/Kent mainly, but may well cover other sides of London.

We have recently moved and used this search engine from the British association of removals. Got the usual three companies to come and quote and chose the best one. All three gave the option of removals only, removals and packing, and removals packing and unpacking. All included boxes that we can keep for up to 3 months after the move and then phone them up and they come and remove them and the packaging paper etc.

    Hope it helps.

As an aside, it's sometimes 'iffy' when someone's first post is to recommend a company. Not saying maharani-m is a spammer, but OP please bear it in mind with others, if not them...

    Scotts are good
  • When I worked in North London, people I knew used this company and were very happy with the service:

They cover all of London, and the whole of the UK.

(I have not used them myself - and did not, and do not, have any connection with them).
  • Thanks very much to everyone who has responded - I shall now head off and carry out some google research on the suggestions!

I was also going to recommend Big Yellow Van, although I only had a small amount to move as I was moving out of a fully furnished rental so it was mainly boxes of books, clothes, some kitchen stuff I had bought etc and very little furniture. However they were well priced and I even managed to just book them on the day.
