Regarding me (yes, back to that old chestnut of this night:rotfl:), obsessive subject: Savvy himself, I in fact feel it was useful that I did not get diagnosed with anything earlier in my life - it would have been so difficult having to learn eye contact and having to memorise all that - as well as now being exhausting to have to think about it and do it every time in every social encounter - fortunately I have it simple: it's too late for me:T, can't teach the old dog now any new tricks, I simply don't even think about it, or have to think about it, I've no idea (beyond the absolute absolute obvious, e.g. of seeing someone physically crying, or smiling in obvious happiness) - I've no idea what people are or aren't thinking or might be thinking, I simply act normal and be myself. I talk to people (when I feel able to - easier with people you know, less easy with strangers, except for 'formal' contacts such as customer service counters etc., like everyone else I queue in the post office and get served etc. No problems. Doesn't cause me any problem, or them), it explains now why I never attract anyone of an evening out though, and why they all go into their own split groups.

I've no idea, from most expressions, about what people may or may not be thinking but it's none too relevant and doesn't substantially cause problems. Occasional misunderstandings happen, but then so do they between most other people between themselves. It may well adversely and severely affect (in a negative way) my ability - or not - to meet people in the clubs etc. or come across in an attractive way to them, instead of seeing me as just a nice guy, an acquantance at best but never someone they would dream of being in a relationship with. (Did I say something wrong?!?) No idea!

But I've no idea about whether it does severely affect that, if indeed it does.

But goodness me, what an autistic meltdown it was trying to get me to have my first sip (years ago, before I was diagnosed). In a way, a sort of 'meltdown' even if not actually of the stressful type to me. Not kicking and screaming, not outwardly anyway, but I can see a tinge in that being done inside, somewhat.

Ah, glad you clarified your meaning "drink" as in alcohol:rotfl::rotfl:. People with forms of autism asked if they "drink" may be likely just to answer "yes". (As in, yes I drink... water!) Although I think, by now in my life, I would have understood the meaning of what you meant there!;)

I know it's causing you twice the work - but, then again, perhaps society causes autistic people twice the work - or more - on occasions. So there! Yea, but it wasn't the sense that I was talking about - e.g. between men and women, or whatever takes your biscuit:rotfl:, love marriage that sort of thing. Perhaps not marriage (I'm not meaning to imply whoa Savvy, straight in there:eek:) but, you know, courting (as they would say in the old-fashioned times), relationships.

This ain't a dating site and I ain't gonna change it into that. And it may be 'friends' but it's not 'friend friends' and I don't mean that in any hurtful way, as yes you'll all still valuable!*

This thread isn't the same as RL relationships etc., but yeah, it's company (of the many different kinds of company that make up a fulfilling life - so long as you've got different types of interaction in your daily life, and I have, it's good! This place also provides a helpful break away from life and its stresses and strains and I enjoy it as well of course!:T)

For some unknown reason I have woken in the night and been unable to go back to sleep. I stumbled on the fact that you can donate nectar points to Oxfam's Philippines Typhoon Emergency Appeal. Thought it was a good way to help. Sorry if already been mentioned, I have been working lots and barely keeping up these days.
