Crikey!! We're better drivers that most! They should subject all 'normal people' to extra tests! Clearly they have a condition that makes them more likely to be unsafe to drive or cause likelihood of risk to others on the road (or pavement or elsewhere for that matter!).

You could be on to something there  I take it easy because I was unfortunately in a serious accident a few years ago now. He was in the car with me and my DD was we all had minor injuries, but given the accident we all got off very lightly. He still remembers it in great detail. Ive always assumed that's why he's such a back seat dictator.....but maybe he would have been anyway? :D:)

Good night everybody, I had my 4th non spend in a row I can't remember the last time this happened. Thanks mid winter for your ongoing support.

Thanks to my sis as well auto.armadillo for her support as well. I had a long conversation with her last at the time I would normally go shopping. Hi sis I did manage not to take my purse with me tonight.

Just sifting through posts, and so pleased to see this Streetlights!

Well done 4 NSD's in a row is great! You're weaning yourself off the whoopsying rush and emptying those freezers!

    Keep going!

I'm making carrot soup tomorrow from some whoopsies I got on Saturday. Got 2 bags of carrots, offered both to DS2 and his uni mates, but he decided one bag was enough (lol) , so came home with the other one!

    Hope it'll taste good!

Many thanks for your tree pictures this morning Westvleteren, very calming and very nice indeed to see them! You might get pictures of frosted trees soon!

    Night night all.

"...A strong response to high intensity stimuli in autism could be one reason for withdrawal."

I don't (as far as I'm aware) have much problem around high-intensity stimulation - in that respect, I'm very very lucky and I feel I have 'just the right amount...' (of autism). We, you, I could discuss this later on - not the time (or possibly the place) at the moment to discuss this - I'm getting into my other Asperger's obsession of the moment (topic of interest: autism) - and should get back to T and Svs etc. No apologies (:p) for the diversion (my getting myself diverted) as that's caused by the condition, as is everything I do or don't do - it's a pervasive development disorder:). From my viewpoint, I don't feel occasions when I get (or in the past have got) a bit withdrawn have been because of outside sensory stimuli. (Okay, if someone upsets you that's obviously stimulation of its own sort and can explain withdrawal, but I'm not talking of stimulation in that sense - more stimulation in the sense of loud noise, bright lights etc. - or, not necessarily loud noise (to other people) - may be quite 'normal' level to them but loud to you.)

    Interesting.:):)

Evening gang, and savvy...re traffic lights, we both look at the light change on the other lights as we go through, I think we have to make sure the sequence is correct, which, in most cases it is not.
Many a time I have phoned the traffic light control centre and told them they have got it wrong. The girls in the office just say we are eccentric, but if others took notice we could be quite efficient. Instead they all mooch along, not knowing what day it is or what sequence and wonder why they are late for work xx

Can someone tell me what the ice wall is please at the deep? TIA

Just a flat vertical wall of ice. brilliant for the children (and erm, older children ;)). They tend to place their hands on it, make the ice start to melt under it. Not an ice climbing wall or anything like that!

    But great fun!

    Oh, there's plenty of non-autistic back-seat drivers I can tell you!:D

And accidents certainly aren't caused just by people without conditions. Some of it is just luck of the draw. I think he probably would have been anyway. I've not (touch wood (must confess I find it a little illogical as to why people do that)) been involved in a serious accident and some accidents are caused by other people! In fact in my case, all are caused by someone else! (I'm certainly not being arrogant in saying that - I always say I'm a rubbish driver, I am, so cautious some times, but I suppose best way to be, all of us have periods of attention and inattention, and there but for the grace of...etc., but most people maybe seem to think they are good drivers (when they most probably aren't) and it's over-confidence that can be a problem as well sometimes. I'm a 'rubbish' driver, because it makes me more aware of my own limitations and how to avoid or deal with them, and thus probably therefore makes me a better driver (although I don't admit to or claim it).)

I don't know (and neither seek to know nor don't) whether his remembering in detail is more because it was traumatic for him or whether it is more was because of his great autistic memory including (but of course not limited to:D:rotfl:) attention to detail.

Regarding accidents and who's dangerous or not, it's usually the other people on the road that you have to watch!

I had a good journey down this afternoon, other than a bit traffic near my destination. I'm tired now, just been catching up on here and watching tv, so I am off to bed now
