:rotfl: savvy. I've lost count how many times I've tried to tell Joe Public in the aisles about a pricing glitch and had them look at me like I'm a complete nutjob.
Some are appreciative but most just don't want to have a stranger strike up a conversation

I can see why. And that's probably also part of why it's not easily done to go up to a complete stranger. I remember the one about the Cadbury Heroes when they were 4p on T's DTD price check 2 and a half years ago. I was so excited I announced it to this gent instore and told him how they were 4p. He ignored me totally! Couldn't believe he did at the time, but now - :doh: - I think I know why. I probably came across as a complete idiot. (It's not the 'done thing'.) I've no idea of course how he felt, I didn't look in his face and caught no expression in his face and, if I had, couldn't tell you at all what it might have meant!:rotfl: Apart from the 'not easy going up to strangers', I don't bother going up like that, very rarely I do get into brief two-way conversations with other customers, like you do, if one of them comments something and I happen to reply. (I remember the one with the Heinz soups, she didn't believe she could get them any cheaper simply by putting eight different ones into her basket (they were on 50p in both A and T at the time) - unbelievably, she said no you can't get them cheaper, proceeded to put a two each of a couple of them in her basket and walked off. :eek:I didn't follow - I'll not like that!:):))
So, yeah, if a customer next to me happens to pipe up and I happen to agree how something is expensive, I might (and do) suggest an alternative - but :wall: none of them ever takes it up!!
Shouldda gone! Goodnight!:D:):rotfl::rotfl::wave::wave:0 -
