Bought an item on ebay, postage was high but I factored that into my bid. Seller messaged me a few days later asking for my details to send a cheque for the extra postage. I said thanks but its easier and cheaper to refund via paypal.
Buyer sent a message a day later saying OK but not right now as I'm busy. And since then silence ...........
Why bother drawing my attention to this and then not acting upon it, surely they are risking lower feedback? I'm now wondering whether they wanted me to message back saying no problem keep the postage, oops.

Mad or what? Only my nan has kept a chequebook and it's probably all mothballs and creaks like its an extra from Hammer House of Horrors as no one uses them nowadays, do they? Cheques made of paper are probably ok for some personal things and paying deposits for kids school trips doubt they have any other use to society....but if someone overcharges you for something at ebay and you paid them via paypal by rights it would be a paypal partial refund you'd be due.
Oh am too busy right now to click a button at Paypal but hey I can go to a drawer, find a pen, write a cheque out, get an envelope, get a stamp, walk to a postbox.....hmmm....evidently not too busy to help herself to extra post ! I mean what we talking here? Pennies? A couple of quid? Its free to pay someone via Paypal wonder if she had sank a few shandies when she emailed lol?NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself" :eek:0 -
I love my buyers who want to pay by cheque or postal order.
No PayPal fees0 -
ummm am I being a bit stupid here or did they not have your details to send you the goods?????
I dislike people who want to pay by cheque, find the moth eaten paying in book, fill out the details and then make a 10 mile round trip in my lunch break to pay it in....0 -
I think Shandy sounds about right, it is in the region of £5 pounds, however I bid lower due to this as I quite wanted the item. I think if they had realistically priced the postage they may have had higher bids. And I agree there is no way I want to have to make a special trip to the bank.
I think they may have panicked when they saw the actual postage and thought I might have marked them down so jumped in first. And yes they have my address, though they might want to check my name. Just seems mad to jeopardise your own stars this way.
I hope they don't try this with a more vindictive or disgruntled type of buyer. The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0
