I thought DPD were 2 hour slots? Either way about 7am you get a text saying what time slot you have and its always arrives within a couple of minutes of the start time. And i do mean a couple. Most of the time its on the dot.

Shame royal mail don't work that way. I have several parcels gone walkies and no trace of them.

No missed deliveries and no returned items when i contacted the local depot.

DPD definitely offer a 1-hour slot, and in my experience they have always been within that time slot. They also have an online tracking tool that will show you where the van currently is, which order number is currently being delivered and what your order number is (as in currently delivering order 50, you are order 120 etc).

They are by far the best delivery service I've had delivering to me.

Given the shoddy service you have received, then there is you should have to wait in all day.

I'd suggest asking for a 4 hour collection window at the weekend.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

How about if I ask them to park the collection van at the end of the road on a particular day and say that I will take the radiator out to the driver sometime between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Somehow I think that this will be unacceptable, but in effect they are asking me to do the same thing by waiting in all day for a collection.

I'll give them a bit wider collection window as you and a few others have suggested.
