might be a good start? Or maybe get started with Mr Tumble http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/something-special/0 -
My DD was a late talker Mr Tumble was a lifesaver, we both learnt the basic signs together, it prevented a lot of frustration on both sides.
There was no hearing issues she was just busy learning other stuff, so she had to attempt the word along with the sign.
Learning it gave her a head start at playgroup and school as one of her friends communicates using Makaton.Proud to be dealing with my debts

dreams do come true (eventually!)0 -
My son uses a mixture of speech, Makaton, and a communication app. Although he learned most at school, our local deafness centre offers free courses, which meant that we could learn too - siblings and grandparent as well as myself. The same centre also has a parent and child group, where they sing and play games. You can learn a lot of Makaton when using it for singing. Each year I teach my Rainbow and Brownie units a Christmas song or carol in Makaton and they love it.0

These DVDs are brilliant http://www.singinghands.co.uk/
The Christmas one is great; we've just got ours out for this year.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
