Lakeland ... surprisingly naff service

Options
Bit of an eye opener. My OH has returned an electric grill to Lakeland, it's packed in altogether. Surprising because it's hardly ever been used but hey ho. It's within 12 months since it was purchased but Lakeland have an unlimited guarantee anyway.

Lakeland have said there's a 6-8 week wait at the moment before the grill will even be looked at ! And a delay of a week or two after that before either a replacement can be sent out or a refund made.

We buy stuff from Lakeland not because they're cheap (they aren't) but because of their unlimited guarantee and positive customer reviews ... I think a delay of this length is, well, pretty much unacceptable.

Thoughts ? Has anyone else dealt with Lakeland lately and had the same thing ? Or is it just us ?

I've never had to return mail order items to them, but their customer service has always been excellent in my experience. I hope it was just an isolated incident rather than a sign of falling standards.

Recently returned a 3 year old breadmaker that had started sticking.

Collected and refunded within days :)
  • Glad to hear others are having a better time of it.

Just a quick update. The item was collected from our home two Thursdays ago by Lakeland's own courier. Today Lakeland can't even say whether it's arrived at their end. They now say that returns take "3 to 6 weeks" to process at this time of year.

Tbh I'm quite disappointed with their service on this occasion.
