Infinis energy ipo

I'm in for the minimum amount.
Happy to hold them if needs be but would prefer to move them on for a modest profit within the first few days.0 -
Not sure about the impact re green levy, does this apply to all energy Co's or just the 'big 6'. Does it make any difference, i.e. isnt it just a hidden tax, in which case its not adding to company profits but just a billable tax similar to VAT?
One concern is that it is the green levy that funds the subsidies that green producers get paid. Without the subsidies they're bankrupt.
A 'change' in the subsidies would introduce an unknown element.0 -

allipo . com
you can buy through them.
I normally use TD Direct investing but they are not participating in this IPO, once you get allocated you can either sell or transfer to your preferred dealer through whom you buy and sell. I have been told there will be £18.00 charges for each script (£15 + VAT )0 -
Even Barclyas is offering this IPO

I'm also finding the same, there's been virtually no hype, information or discussion at all about this IPO, I don't know if that's a good thing or not??...
It's either being kept a very good secret by people in the know, or it's such a bad proposition it's not even worth considering!!
It's not a household name, it's a sector which isn't very 'exciting', and it's hoping to have a market cap of something like £1bn or thereabouts.
Contrast to something like Royal Mail, everyone knows the name, lots of promotion etc.0 -
No. 1 risk in the prospectus (p.17) regarding any change to the subsidy they receive...
"These changes could in some circumstances materially affect the Group’s existing business, or could
materially affect its future growth, as support mechanisms are necessary in order to provide the Group’s
business with expected returns."
Terra Firma may have chosen an opportune time to bail out! I'm passing on this one as it looks like there's a reasonable degree of uncertainty out there. My quick calcs on valuation suggest 330-370p isn't unreasonable but this will be optimistic if the green subsidy is reduced to help people's bills today. My suspicion is that they'll fund the green subsidy some other way as they have to meet EC green energy targets i.e. this could be a non-issue but in the meantime the uncertainty isn't going to help launch the infinis ipo0 -
The company will enter the 250 so will qualify for institutional investment vehicles. The yield will reportedly be 6+% as well so I have applied for a reasonable allocation.

Most of what I have read indicates that the Green Levy on bills will be rolled back when the chancellor makes his statement on 5th Dec.
However with targets on green energy to be met from somewhere surely this won't be that big an elephant in the room come the IPO launch?
So much money and effort has gone into the wind turbine development over the last few years for it to suddenly be abandoned by central govt?0 -
From my brief reading around I understand the energy companies are hoping that it is the ECO scheme which is cut back (part of the green levy which ensures they provide FOC insulation and reduced cost boilers for those on certain low incomes). But the energy companies are essentially trying to hold the government to ransom with this green levy, threatning another price hike if it isn't scaled back.
I can't see the government pulling back on renewable energy investment like wind turbine development. No chance.
Could get messy over the next few weeks though, so this is surely a buy > quick sell or long term hold for its potential income yield.0 -
One thing I've learnt is don't buy companies that rely on government, because they change their minds all the time!Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0
