I have been given 2 very large bags of off-cuts of furnishing fabric, to make something with to sell at our Charity Fair. None of the pieces measure bigger than about 1m, they are all contemporary fabric, and really rather lovely - I've though of:

    cushions
    aprons
    bags
    door stops (filled with wheat)

    Any other ideas greatfully received.

    Big thanks

How about pin cushions? I think adding bran to the filling assists in keeping pins sharp.

Wheat bags (that you heat in the microwave, to ease aches and pains) are popular, here. A sprinkle of essential oil, or some real lavender inside, give a pleasant fragrance.

  • Some bunting? if you have smaller offcuts left near the end? Looks cute round a deck etc for summer bbq's/parties...

    Just a thought ;)

Peg bags perhaps or those long fabric tubes that you hang up and people keep carrier bags in?

drawstring bags are useful for all sorts of things, tiny ones for earings and big ones for dirty washing when travelling, can use them just as handbags too.

Kids gym bags (do they still have those?)

Rag rugs are lovely, make good little coasters too.

    Tea cosy

    Travel pillows, neck rest

Juggling balls if filled with little beans to make them heavy

Pot pourri bags for your knicker drawer or citronella ones to repel flies

I know its a lotta work but a patchwork quilt/throw - they usually go for a fair bit. I tried to buy one in a craft fair a few months ago but they wanted £250!!! Great for an auction as well
