how do you decide who gets stuff you've offered?
i've offered some ww books i don't need anymore and people replied wihin 5 minutes of it going on the boards!

For me personally Heather, I put in my postings that I'll wait at least 24 hours before picking someone from my cyber hat, just to give everyone a fair chance as I've noticed quite a few folks reply wanting everything which is on offer - the ebay / carboot lot me thinks! Which is not where I want my stuff to go to, and I'd rather take it to the charity shop where they can make money from it.

Even though I state I'll wait a full 24 hours at least, I still get like many others here, I'll have it, and I'll have it now, and I'll come and get it right now! Give me your address NOW!!! You get the picture, and funnily enough they never get anything from me either.

Also by waiting this time it allows for those who are maybe at work or out, to get a fair chance to get a look at what I'm offering as their need might come across as more than someone elses want. Hope the last bit makes sense.

Greed in every sense of the word.

This reminds me need to go and email the guy who asked nicely for my inflatable punchbag for his son.

Oh and the person who I chose for my printer never turned up and here was me panicking as I thought I'd missed them when I was picking up / dropping off something from another freecycler.

I have emailled them, and the crazy thing is they have relatives who are local to me, as in stay in the same housing scheme and it's for them!

I offered loads of stuff yesterday - said that I'd wait at least 24 hours before offering them out, but got loads of 'gimme' emails within half an hour of posting them - can't decide if they're just dense or hard faced or both! Needless to say those emails got binned.
Think I've now found homes for the stuff (did get a lot of nice emails) - sent out emails a bit ago, so hopefully it'll go later on today :T

i've this problem today, posted an offered, said it will be ready by the end of week, not sure if anyone will want it, but if your interested, email me

    first two replies
Hi interested in **** please ring:*****-****** please
i'll have it, send me your address and time to collect this evening

    cheeky beggars

four nice replies so far though too. i wonder if people do actually get stuff this way? (rude not nice i mean)

on the upside, i'm off to collect something later, from a new person on our boards, said they were giving them me, as others were rude, one even wanted her to post it to them.

Tis indeed - we've all met the serial grabbers (or, wannabee grabbers) I tend to do a search on their posts and look at their history before offering them anything! I have met/emailed with far more nice freecyclers than grabbers through
