    See to me it sounds like some sort of crazy book pyramid scheme. And surely if I have 6 friends interested in doing this I'd just swap books with them.

    What's wrong with using the library?

    i agree entirely, although i did use to use some book swapping thing where you left books in odd places and when people found them, they went to a website and registered it and then when you were done you did the same again. gave that up though, as i prefer to borrow from library rather than buy, cos i'm tight like that, lol.

    our library is only open two afternoons a week at mo due to staffing crisis, so not been for a while, but whilst they are shut so much they are waiving all late fines, which is a bonus!!!!!!!!

    That is ridiculous, truly ridiculous. Please go for a night out tonight or something! Just so they're standing at the door for a while. You could even stick a note on the door saying "Back in 5 minutes" to really draw it out!
