Faulty used car. My rights.

I bought a a car from a dealership in june. It was a 08 corsa with 35k on the clock and cpst 5k. In september the EML came on so I took it to the dealer and they did a diagnostics test (which they tried to charge for) and found that the o2 senspr had failed. They fixed that under my 6 month warranty and all was good for about 3 weeks and the EML has came on again. This time when took back to the dealer they did a diagnostics (again trying to charge me) and found that there were no problems. They got the light off and I got my car back. Then another 2 weeks later and the EML is on again. Another trip to the dealer and they do a diagnostics (this time they didnt try to charge me) and determine that 2 more sensors have failed. Theu change the sensors under warranty and all is good. Until last night on my way home, the car started to really bog down and was just "kangarooin". I mamaged to nurse it home (only 1 mile from work). They dealer is comin to collect the car to put it into the garage and this time have offered me a courtesy car. Im only 20 so I have to pay the insurance for the cc.
Anyway the main question is, what can I do? I took the car out on finance and im extremely annoyed and angry at wjat I have been sold. Ive had it 5 months and done 6kmiles and it has been back to the dealer 4 times for tje same problem that has yet to be resolved. I no longer want the car as it has nothing but problems but how do I go about it with outstanding finance?

Sorry for all the spelling mistakes im on my phone.
Thanks in advance :)

To be fair, you've done 6K miles and had several problems. If you'd been an average Corsa driver, you'd probably have only done 2-3K in the 5 months you've had it, and perhaps had only one of those problems.

The garage seem to be doing what they should and offering to fix it under warranty, which seems perfectly reasonable to me.

If they were refusing to help, I'd be on your side but in this case it sounds like they're doing what they can. The 'trying to charge' for diagnostics could just be their service people misunderstanding what warranty you have and has been rectified so far. They've offered a courtesy car while they fix it. Not sure what else they can do really.

End of the day, cars have problems. Sometimes they take a while to fix. Yours is under warranty and the dealer's doing what they can to sort it. I'm not sure you've got much to complain about personally.
  • it has been back to the dealer 4 times for tje same problem that has yet to be resolved.

EML lights don't mean the same problem, it could be a bunch of faults, the garage are doing all they can & engine scanning is expensive so they will charge but if you have told them about the car with warranty, then that might not have gone down through to the service department.

Have to agree. With 6000 miles covered it is hardly like it has spent all its time off the road. Not entirely sure it is the car for that sort of mileage either.

Does sound like the dealer is doing what they can to fix the car and has changed different things. Your issue will be when the warranty period ends and the fault still isn't found.

I appreciate it could have been a few things gone wrong but it does sound as though they are trying. Hopefully they'll get it sorted. the difficulty is the idea o just plug the car in and expect it to show the exact fault as opposed to actually being able to diagnose it.

Have you tried any Corsa forums to see if there is a common fault they should be addressing?
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

As others have said, the engine management light on is not the 'fault' just an indicator the car has recorded a fault, and it does seem there has been several, not just one.

The dealer has been repairing these problems as they occur, so they're doing what they should be.

I think you would struggle to envoke any "right" to a refund.
