Just in case we get carried away with the ALDI Saga, I've noticed that LIDL claim to be set up for contactless payments. IN ALL THEIR STORES!!!
Surely world-shattering news. I have not checked whether this applies to UK/English/Scottish/Welsh/German/Whatever Stores; I leave this exercise to those who have too much time on their hands.

I'm sure they probably do, most newer card machines can do contactless. All of the card machines at my University including the one in the library accept contactless.“Washing one's hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral. ”

Do Lidl have a store in Berwick-Upon-Tweed and if so is it part of their English region or their Scottish region?0

But I don't think they take CCs, even in Scotland!0

Unfortunately it seems there isn't a Lidl shop in Berwick Upon Tweed, the nearest branch being 20 miles away in Kelso (Scotland) and 28 miles away in Alnwick (England).

Maybe someone could visit and verify their card acceptance or otherwise.DFBX2016 #024

My local Sainsburys now has Ingenico machines that can take contactless but you can't use contactless, they don't seem to be have it turned on.0
