Unfortunately sometimes tradespeople genuinely get caught up in jobs that take longer than they anticipated and later appointments suffer as a result. Or someone offered them a bigger (and therefore more lucrative) job on the same day so yours got shelved (I know from a former plumber this can happen too).

I realise it's a nuisance, especially having taken unpaid leave, but as previously stated, the issue would be the same even if you owned the house. You could try appealing to the LLs better nature and hoping they give you a token gesture for your inconvenience, but I think you'd have a tough job actually claiming anything back.

You know before I even read the post I just knew this would be a rental property.
Put you claim in for the lost pay and expect an S21 in the return post.
Count yourself lucky you are not paying the plumbers bill.
Your Landlord does not want you to be without heating and hot water.
Do you get a gas safe check each year ?
Has the boiler been serviced ?
