Fitting an end to drainage pipe?

Options
Hi I am putting in a run offf drainage pipe into my rear garden from the front but have the following concern:

at the point where it goes to the "soak away" what do I cap the end off with to stop it getting clogged up with silt and the like?

Thanks in advance for any help which you are able to give me :)

I assume you've got 4inch underground pipe running into a proper soakaway utilising rubble or stone?

If this is the case then the end should be turned down by 90 degrees so that it runs vertically into the soakaway. This will stop any muck from above getting into the pipe.

You will need viscreen or damp proof membrane over the top of the soakaway to stop the infill above falling in between the voids in the rubble. This needs to be about 8 to 12 inches below the surface.

In addition I would advise you to use weed suppression membrane or similar on the walls of the soakaway to prevent silt coming in from the sides. A cheap option may be to cut up and use old dumpy bags.
