hi, have a raspberry pi model b and managed to get it running using raspbmc operating system. have a usb wifi dongle working fine and purchased a keyboard remote with a mouse tracker which comes with a usb receiver. if i plug the usb receiver in the raspberry pi then the usb wifi does not work, any ideas why this is? i need both to work at the same time. sorry if i didn't explain very well but im not very techy.

Your not using a usb hub are you?0

just the 2 usb ports in the pi0

you are probably drawing too much power from the USB port with the WiFi and the Wireless keyboard and mouse dongle attached.
You will have to find a powered USB hub to power everything.Laters

The usb ports only give out 100mA rather than the usual 500mA so you need to be very picky on what devices you plug into it. and have at least a1A-2A power supply
(The Pi takes in around +/- 400mA without attachments)
the Pi Foundation suggest this USB wifi dongle: (I use it from time to time)

I use it with this keyboard and mouse set : (I got it for £5 from Asda sale nearly 2 years ago @ 80%off! The dongle only pulls 50mA)

Saying that your millage may vary with these devices it all depends on the board and power supply. I've a "Model B rev 1" (the first batch of Pi's made) and a "model B rev 2" board (The current model), they seem to be slightly different in terms of USB devices and power.Laters

can't tell from the sites about how much power each of the dongles use.
The Power Supply you are using is fine.
can you see on the dongles if they have any information regarding power ?Laters
