Where can i leave luggage during the day in London?

Hi

My family and I are going to London on Wed 18th Dec until Friday 20th Dec, we are staying at the Hammersmith Premier Inn on the Wednesday night and the Kensington Olimpia Premier Inn on the Thursday night.

We want to travel down on the Wednesday morning with 1 suitcase on the tube but as we have lots to do we don't want to be trapsing around London between checking out and checking in the hotels with a suitcase and was wandering if anyone can recommend somewhere, not too pricey, we can leave our luggage during the day especially Friday as we have to check out 12pm and are not due to travel home until Friday evening.

Any suggestions/advice would be most appreciated, thanks.

  • You can drop it at the hotel before you check in, and you can leave it after check out until you are ready to catch the train.

I was hoping I could do that but wasn't sure if the Premier Inn would let me?

    Hi
We stayed at the Greenwich Premier Inn and they had a room behind the reception for left luggage.

Harrods! It's £3 per bag unlimited time within the day, and £1 per coat. Much cheaper than left luggage at the train stations wo charge by the hour

Why not check with the hotel?

Was in London last week and had the same suitcase problem!

The National Maritime Museum in Greenwich will look after a case for free.

It's £4 per suitcase and £2 per bag to leave them in the Science museum cloakroom.

Planned our trip so we did Greenwich before we checked in and the Science museum on our last day before catching a late train home!
Here I go again on my own....

You might like to consider the British Library, between St.Pancras and Euston.

They will only take smallish bags - 56cm x 45cm x 25cm - and they have lockers that cost £1.

The even better bit is that you get that £1 refunded when collecting your bag. :D

The Cloakroom and lockers are on the lower ground floor.

We have stayed at several Premier Inns over the years and all of them have let us leave luggage behind reception.

The lockers are for library visitors, though!

"From 1 February 2011, we have been restricting the size of luggage you can bring into the St Pancras site to airline ‘carry on’ size. This is to discourage non-Library users from taking advantage of our luggage facilities. The ‘carry on’ size is 56cm (h) X 45cm (w) X 25cm (l), and there is a size gauge outside our entrance, so you can check if your bags will fit."
