50th Birthday Present Help.

It's Hubby's cousin birthday, and we have no idea what to get him. As a family they all have a great sense of humour so Hubby suggested either:

An Old Man Hamper:

Flat cap
Werthers
Pipe
Slippers
Anything else we can think of (need some suggestions!)

A Keep Young Hamper:

Hoodie
Alcopop
Baseball cap
Anything else from suggestions!

So, any ideas for what to add or other ideas for what to get entirely, gratefully received!

hmmm - love the idea of the hampers - could you split them? one of each from you two?
look for bottles of real ale with titles like 'Old Grumpy'. one or two of those would go down a treat!
A 'Denture' container. and some Steradent.
one of those handknitted V neck, sleeveless jumpers (in stripes if poss).
    a knitted scarf
    fingerless gloves

    for the Keeping young hamper
    packs of Temporary Tatts
    Some 'instant tan'
    a 'man bag'
    mens 'make up'
moisturiser etc for men (I think Nivea do this)

You could include a CD in each, one of old man type music and one of something trendy (or even trendier is an iTunes download voucher).

A decent bottle of whisky? Case of beer? Magazine subscription?

Experience voucher like flying lesson or Silverstone racing car?

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time
  • I know this is supposed to be a 'joke' present - and I really don't want to put a dampener on it - but if I received that then I would think what a waste of money.

We have a friend with a similar birthday coming up and if we can't think of a suitable present then we'll give a donation to a charity that we know they support

Sorry, I really don't think that's a good idea and, as has been already said, a terrible waste of money.

    Stereotypes aren't actually very amusing.
  • I think if he's got a sense of humour then he'll find it amusing....and probably start plotting what to get you guys when your birthdays come round!

My family has got a good sense of humour too and would laugh at something like that! But then again, I like the funnier cheesier cards more than the sincere soppy ones.

I've seen those inflatable walking sticks and zimmer frames too, just another idea!
