Although you could be extra money smart by booking via RSH and getting some cash back.;)

I went to Birmingham yesterday (Saturday) from Leicester and my off peak day return ticket indeed confirms a price of £12.50..

  • Even when I buy a ticket on 'walk up' I like to have a guide price. Sometimes you will not get offered the one you want first go.
Have your price ready and check any restrictions there might be for that time of travel.
    Back on the trains again!

I was just offering general advice for tickets that I thought may be of use to someone or the op if she was looking to travel again.

I did thank you, I travelled onto Yardley Wood to watch my rugby team play but I often go shopping in Birmingham. They were doing the Christmas parade as I returned home and its nice. One tip I picked up is that the trains on Saturday late afternoon/early evening are very, very busy so if you want a seat get there in decent time. Luckily for me I managed to nab a seat but the train was absolutely heaving.
