Buyer dispute in sellers favour, bath products not covered

You learn something new everyday.
I bought something off ebay which included shower gels and soap, when it arrived with me it was sent in a Jiffy bag and everything had leaked making the item unusable.
I contacted the seller and was told that it was not her responsibility as the item was damaged in the post and it was fine when she sent it.
I opened an item not as described case with PayPal ( my first SNAD). PayPal ruled in the favour of the seller as bath products are not covered by PayPal. The exact wording was the item violated the paypal acceptable use policy. It's ineligible for PayPal buyers protection. II have phoned paypal and they said the same.
It was not a lot of money and I obviously will leave appropriate feedback, I just am surprised that there are a lot of items that PayPal don't cover.

Really, and have you asked them to point that out in their terms and conditions?
They are tangible goods, not perfumes so no trouble from that quarter..I'd phone up and ask them to show you exactly where that is shown as not eligible. I assume though that everything else showed as eligible when you paid, ie one payment made for named goods etc?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The only way I can see them not being covered is if they were custom made to your specific order:
https://cms.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/?&cmd=_render-content&content_ID=ua/UserAgreement_full&locale.x=en_GB#13.%20PayPal%20Buyer%20Protection
custom made items
Also, try this:
Please note the following eligibility requirements applicable to eBay listings: Look for either a PayPal Buyer Protection message or an eBay Buyer Protection message in the eBay listing. If you see this message and you meet the other eligibility requirements, your item is eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection. You can view this message in the listing after you complete your purchase by logging into your eBay account, going to “my eBay,” then “won”, and looking at the listing. If the listing does not include the buyer protection message, then it is not eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thank you very much.
I have phones again and they have made a mistake so it will be ruled in my favour. They are going to refund me and I won't have to send the item back but they are also going to pay the seller as they made the mistake. Item will now go in the bin.0 -

I hope you left appropriate FB for the bad seller.
It really p's me off when sellers say they aren't responsible for breakages in the post, they should ensure that they pack carefully enough to withstand being thrown around & crushed under loads of other parcels.0
