Hi peeps,
Just a little advice is required here. We went out and bought 2 Sony C2 series laptops (£850ish each) and now mine has gone faulty (key stuck) They were only bought last Saturday.
They were bought on a credit agreement. I don't want my laptop back or a repair. I have found a perfectly good lenovo laptop for less than half the price of the sony (it still has core duo 1.7GHz cpu DVD writer etc) and work have agreed an interest free loan for it too.
So my question is, because two laptops were bought on finance and one is faulty, can the finance agreement be altered to remove one laptop and what are my rights. I dont think it was of merchantable quality to break 9 days later and it is expensive crud to boot.
Can I reasonably demand that they in effect give me my money back by changing the credit agreement ?
Cheers

PS I know it may be the wrong forum, but i couldn't find anywhere more suitable.

If the laptop is faulty, you have a right to exchange or repair.
If you are not happy with the laptop and want to return it, then you will need to refer to the terms & conditions of the credit agreement you signed as to whether you can have the laptop purchase voided.
Do it quick though, because you have certain time limits to meet in terms of making it clear you do not want the product.0 -
Most agreements have some sort of cooling off period, read the agreement carfully and understand it fully. 14 days int uncommon so act quickly, it would result in canceling the agreement and returning both laptops. you could return them as the fault has put you off.
What is the fault it could make a difference, makng it easy to return or not. also who sold it and who is the agreement with?0 -
Well chaps, I went last night to Peeceee world and they were actually alright about it, they offered me a refund straight away but it would mean re signing for another credit agreement and cancelling the last one, so I just too the same one again because the gf loves her pink oneThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
