This is the one we have now but in cream cast iron. It comes with both logs and coals so you can decide which you prefer. We prefer the coals.
We returned our Optimyst Fire which caused massive condensation problems and after a lengthy argument with the store we came away with the Optiflame Fire and about £300 refund. The cast iron casings are identical so you pay several hundred quid for The Optimyst effect but you have to fill it up with filtered water every day and put up with water running down all your windows. it definitely isn't worth it.0 -

So you would recommend the one you have? We are after one that looks like a real logburner (don't mind the coal effect if it looks better), doesn't make a noise and gives off a decent amount of heat as it's a big room.0 -
I did fall for the one below that I saw in a local shop today. It is £729 which is way more than we want to pay but he said he will probably have it knocked down in price at end of the week as he having a clearance, said it could down as much as half?? Sounds odd but certainly will be calling him. It's a little cheaper online but not much.

Are the LED lights in modern electric fires replaceable?0

The steam is a nice effect but the coals or log effect is unfortunately really plastic-y looking spoiling the overall realism0

Hi,
Sorry to resurrect this thread after almost a year but Im torn between a Dimplex Optiflame or a Valor Dimension.
Ive ruled out an Optimyst due to all the concerns Ive read about.
Can anyone with any of these suggest which is the most realistic flame out of the Optiflame or Dimension?
Any thoughts appreciated.0 -
Dimplex Opti Flame definitely. I ruled out the opti mist as this was going into holiday cottages. The separate flame effect (no ribbon!) is really convincing and the fan quite quiet- sadly all of them make some noise. Why can't someone integrate a genuine Fire crackle when the fan is on? Anyway I'm very pleased with it - and very reasonably priced.0

So glad to have found this thread - were about to buy an Opti Myst! Thank you.0
