Afternoon all
I'm thinking of taking the plunge andbuying the other half a ring...I've found a website that seems to be reputable, but don't want to hand over my card details untill im sure, can anyone verify the validity of thediamondringcompany.co.uk? unfortunatly getting out alone is a bit awkward as we car share so I thought buying online in work would be a good way to keep it a surprise!

The company number is registered with Companies House.
Website looks fine.
Whether the jewellery is good value or anything else is not something I know about. Someone else might.no https....

Thanks both. I'd probably be using a credit card anyway, i tend to do so for larger purposes anyway. The diamonds stated all seem to be certified by recognizable institutes, so I would hope the quality is as stated? tbh, I know very little about such things anyway! Just that platinum and diamonds cost ridiculous amounts of money, i cant help compared prices of that tiny stone to a mortgage overpayment
but hey ho, shes probably worth it

ive just had a little go on the website and onre thing I would say is that the representations of the rings are very large ie magnified.
What sort of size diamond are you looking at buying from there as the prices seem reasonable for diamond prices but I really am staggered at how magnified the stones are.
As long as you have done your resaearch on what you want and are happy with the size and clarity of the stones etc then it seems a relatively easy way to buy a ring.Although if you dont know the difference in .18 and .5 etc then I perhaps would suggest you go and have a look at the size of particular diamonds in the flesh so to speak...even if you then subsequently buy online.
best of luck with your search and eventual proposal.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I'm looking at .5 size for the diamond, im well aware that this is rather small, but we've just bought a house together so the budget is quite tight. We've had a few conversations about it and she has said on more than one occasion that she would be happy with anything as its the meaning behind it that matters more. I've also been told that .5c isnt too bad?0

Actualy, if anyone here does know anything, I've been pointed towards something along the lines of "Princess Cut, VVSI, G, .5c"
Does that sound any good to anyone? Budget is around the £1000 mark?
Edit: Was hoping to get it in a platinum band for that as I know shes a fan of platinum0 -
a .5 is a lovely size stone...I think the point I was trying to make is that the magnification shows no difference in sizes of stones and .17 is very small in relation to others if you have no knowledge on the subject......
Totally agree that its the sentiment behind it that matters...but thought I would give you the benefit of 25 years plus of jewellery knowledge!!!!!!
Certainly go for platinum in preference to white gold if you can afford to...white gold is plated and sometimes the plating can wear easily....no such problem with platinum.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Any advice you can give is very much appreciated! You can probly tell my knowledge on the subject is very limited! Which scares me when spending such a sum of money!0
