task bar has changed colour

Hi there.
I have just installed Windows 8.1 with the help from Microsoft using there remote access helpline (ap store was not working) well after we had completed the upgrade my tool task bar at the bottom of the screen has changed colour from its blue to a greyish colour.
Also another problem with the update I may now have US spell check as the word colour is not reconised and a red line has appeared under it suggesting a spelling error. How can I change this back from US to UK
