Finally managed to get some work but i have a question previously when i started work they used to be 4 weeks ct/hb run on which i believe they have stopped doing?

If so as i start work on Monday will my housing benefit be paid for that week as i have to work a week lying on or does it end on the Sunday?

Cheers for any help.

Would this possibly count for me as i have been out of work for over 6 months?

    Just a small update.

Signed off today as i signed on for the 10th November last payment from the JSA and start work the 11th November then was told best to go to the council to query about the extended payments.

Seen the lady in the council and she said that i had to inform them now as the jobcentre does not anymore she said that she couldn't see any gaps in my JSA over 26 weeks and as long as i expect my job to run longer than 5 weeks then i am entitled to it.

Only hitch i have is my landlords last payment was the 20th of October so they owe him 3 weeks up until this sunday that's going to be temp suspended until they sort my 4 weeks extended payments out can see my landlord not being happy about that :| as he would have been due his usual 4 weeks payment on the 17th november.

If anyone does happen to know will i get a letter stating how long the extended payments will last till? And anyone know some kind of timeframe am looking at? Forgot to ask these questions.

    Cheers.
  • If you start work on a Monday you will get Housing Benefit and LCTS to the following Sunday.

Then if you have been in receipt of a qualifying benefit for 26 weeks or more with no break immediately prior to commencing work and your job is expected to last 5 weeks or more then you will get 4 weeks EPB.

So from the date you start work you should get 5 weeks full HB/LCTS.
These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.

    Thanks thats even better :)!

Just need to get in contact with my landlord and explain the change of circumstances i have lived here 8 years give or take so he should be understanding.

Is there a usual timeframe on how long it takes or varies? As she has suspended any payments due to the landlord from his last payment (20th October) till they look in to the extended payments (Guessing this is normal procedure?)

And also do you know if i get a letter stating the last payment they will be making? Just all easier if on paper lol.

    Thanks again :).

Time-frame will depend on the workload of your local authority.

Any change has to be notified to you in writing.

Just thought i'd bump this up as i need some help again.

Received a letter stating my HB is being suspended landlord is owed 4 weeks rent now which i guess is protocol while sorting out the extended payments?

Also got a C/T bill saying i owe £300 odd pound and they expect 5 payments of around £60 by the 30/12/13 which i find unreasonable to expect that also the job is only till 24th december so unless i am lucky will be signing back on and claiming HB/CT again meaning i will have paid around 180 quid when i reality with the extended payments i'd be lucky to owe 1/2 lots so maybes 40 odd quid... If i ring them will they normally come to some arrangement? And also take in to account extended payments?

    Cheers.
