This has now been raised from 15k to 30k.
So any accounts within Barclays that are under 30k will not require probate.

John cases like that have been dealt with in court in the last two years. I need to dig through the grey matter but I believe one was a bank manager. One was deifnately a female council employee who on the back of the privlidged information she had stole credit cards etc and or started her own probate research company. Thankfully she was caught and sentenced to prison however thet didnt get the money back she stole. I am shocked at Barclays views on this but I can understand it as well
