High Postage
imho
My son bought a motorbike part from ebay and the postage was £15 .Its now been delivered and the postage is £6.74p.I dont mind paying a few quid more for postage but over £8 extra is a bit much.
Its a private seller that looks like he guessed the postage. He has only sold 3 other items on ebay and thats was all parts from his motorbike.
Thanks.

How was it wrapped? You're also being charged for packaging.
Threads about postage never end well on here, so be prepared for all sorts of answers and analogies....0 -
The part was just put in a box no wrapping paper as its stainless steel motorbike part so wouldnt have really got damaged.
Just checked postage for the 3 other bits he has sold and all the items have had huge postage prices.0 -
I know many people will say that you knew the postage when you chose to pay but personally I would ask for some money back from the seller. A quid or so out is fair enough but when the seller is making that much money on postage they are taking the p*ss.
I have politely asked for some money back on postage before and most have been happy to oblige. Those that haven't I have just marked them down in their feedback.
£9 for packaging?!?! Gold plated box maybe? How was it wrapped? You're also being charged for packaging.0 -
Overpriced postage used to be about dodging the final value fees. But now that ebay charge the fees on the postage too there is no reason for it. This seller obviously doesn't realise the recent change and their feedback will be trashed before long.Just checked postage for the 3 other bits he has sold and all the items have had huge postage prices.0 -

Thanks everyone i think i message him and see what he replies.0

Normally I would agree with you, but £9 for packaging, even for a heavy item, is extreme.
I agree, but as it's a motorcycle part I envisaged it being quite heavy and may be packed in something more substantial than a box. Unlikely to have cost £9 I know, but would have added something to the cost the OP mentioned.
Anyway, let's stop nit picking and let the usual suspects on these type of threads cover the same tired ground.0 -
Nope its just a small box no packing it weighed 9 grams. I have messaged him now.0

Oh he is a nice seller. He said he just guessed the postage and said he will refund some of the postage.I said £5 is enough to refund and he refunded £10 so i said its too much and i will refund him £5 but he said its ok.0
