pardon me for not reading through 5 pages of post, however the problem with UC is that it needs real time updates as claims can and will change each month i.e claimant works 20 hours more or 20 hours less, that in a nutshell is what they apparently cant get the systems to do,the big question is will they solve this problem, the answer is possibly not and they will therefore have to adjust UC,the good news is that sooner or later this will be the end of IDS as a frontline politician
I have said from the beginning (elsewhere)that they would have this problem0 -

I think UC is a good idea.
Only available through a highly complex, badly designed, 'put-you-through-the-hoops' system before you get through to the magic "Claim" button....
That way, if you are savvy enough to get through, then clearly you are literate and able to get a job. So no benefits.
If you can't get through to the magic "Claim" button, then tough. No benefits.
.... large gin & tonics all round....:)0
