IVA concerns with company

the company I have an IVA with have been really good to be honest, however.. I am now concerned that I received a call from one of the creditors, whose debt is now under the IVA previously my debts were with a debt management company and not going down any time soon, so I moved to an IVA because in 5 years I will be debt free and the rest wiped off. However the company who contacted me said they have not received any payments to my account for a few months now the last one was from the debt management company. I explained I was in an IVA and who with, they checked and said fine we will remove you from the call back list.... that was helpful... but .. I pay 150.00 per month for the IVA company to pay my creditors, I emailed them and told them about this and I am still waiting on a reply ... that was Friday when I contacted them.... also on the subject of an IVA some of my debts in there are dated back as far as 2006, am I in any position to approach the creditors or have the debt wiped, they have been receiving payment since 2006/07 from me and debt management since 2009... some are very small debts now.. also on one of my credit files one of the debts I thought I was still paying via the IVA and included says balance satisfied... something dodgy or all easy to sort out???? I'm so tired of all the debt, its a part of my past I want rid of

  • It is usual for payments in an IVA to be distributed either every 3 or 6 months, it sounds like the debt has been sold to a debt collection agency who were not aware of your IVA. It is not uncommon and really nothing to worry about

If debts included in your IVA have been marked as settled, why would this be a problem? It will be easy to clean up your credit file post IVA if this does happen.

If the debts are included in your IVA, why would you want to pay them?

Yes I know what you mean and you make clear sense, thank you, a satisfied debt is a good debt :) .....with reference to paying debts off, not so much though to pay them off just wonder if there is any truth in this... debts older than 6 years etc..... ...? it's all new to me and ..
  • Yeah some debts can become statute barred after 6 years of no payment or acknowledgement, but this will not apply to you as you have been paying and the IVA is an acknowledgement of those debts.
