Is it worth going for a 1080HD screen on a 15" laptop?

    What for?

Basically, I'd say no, because to properly see the benefit/difference you'd need to be sitting so close to the screen that you'll get eye strain.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

    I have a 1920x1080 screen on my laptop (15.6").

Images etc. are crisper compared to a 1366x768 screen.

Unless you inspect it with a magnifying glass then you probably wont be able to tell the difference between 720 and 1080.

1080 of a 5" phone screen.. err why. My S4 screen looks identical to my old S2 screen which was not HD.

I think some folks need to get their eyesight tested!
Consider that this 15" screen is likely to be in your lap - the screen will be close to your eyes. OP makes no mention of what they'll use the laptop for, but if it's for HD films, they will be played clearly.
They will also be able to fit more onto the desktop, meaning less scrolling through websites etc.
Also consider that a laptop with a 768 screen is likely to be lower end these days...
  • I got a full HD screen on my latest laptop, now when I use the old one I am disappointed I put up with the low quality display! So I think it's worth it, personally. You really need to go and try them out for real to decide if it suits YOU !
    Friendly greeting!

Course it isn't. Laptops can have 11.6" and 13.3" 1080p screens. It means the higher resolutions allow more on screen and sharper images. So a 15" HD screen is a no brainer.

Maybe an idea to take a trip to Specsavers, because the difference between the S2 and S4 is more than noticeable where the display is concerned IMHO.
