I believe he can claim his losses. If those are greater than the deposit he can chase for the difference. If less than the deposit he should be returning the difference.poppasmurf_bewdley wrote: »...
If you do not go through with the deal, the dealer is entitled to keep your deposit and reclaim from you any losses he may incur in re-selling the car.

OP - The fact that you haven't signed the form could be argued as pretty irrelevant - you authorised the deposit which can be seen as accepting the terms.0 -
Long story short, contract law. Offer, Acceptance, Consideration. Don't believe a word of those bored volunteers at CAB, they disappear as soon as litigation is mentioned.
What a totally objectionable comment. And yes, I have been a volunteer at CAB, but never got bored, and helped over 1800 people in four years. Pathetic generalisations like yours contribute nothing constructive at all.
Perhaps you are a bored ambulance chasing lawyer?0 -

The idea of a deposit is to stop someone else buying the car.. Not sure why you left a deposit then carried on looking for a car.
Was it an invoice or order form that was signed?0 -
