I wish they'd stick with one name - I know it's to do with sponsorship but I've just had an email to say there's been a change to a concert. ie that it is now at phones4u when previously Manchester arena (they've made it half an hour earlier too) It's taken me til now to stop calling it Nynex.

I know what you mean, I had to Google the other day to find out where the Phones4U Arena was, now if they had just said that it used to be the Nynex / Manchester Evening News Arena I needn't have bothered, I know where that is!!

It'll always be the M.E.N. Arena for me. I hadn't even heard of the Nynex Arena.

Phones 4 u won't last long as the sponsor. It will be something like the etihad arena soon I would think

Down here we have the O2 - which most people still call the Dome. When it first changed, I used to refer to it as the Oxygen but it didn't catch on:(

Same with Sheffield arena, its gone through a few name changes.
No doubt the Leeds arena will too.

I had to google when I got the email because I'd never heard of the phones4u arena, I went through a tiny panic about not finding it.

Blimey when did that change? I was only talking the other day about when it was called Nynex, knew it had now dropped the MEN name but hadn't heard of the phones4u one. And now some poor soul has got to change all those brown signs...
