How do I hide my telephone number when making a call?

Options
How do I hide my telephone number when making a call on my landline? I am with Talk Talk. What will appear on the phone of the person I am calling if they have caller ID? Does this also work when calling a mobile? Your answers will be very gratefully received. Thankyou.

If you hide your number then the receiver will show something like "unavailable".

You can switch to hiding your number permanently via your online account, or put 141 before each number you dial when you want to to hide your number

When withheld calls to mobiles they get a "private caller" or similar message.

Do I just dial 141 and then the number without any spaces?

If you as caller withhold your number, it should display as 'WITHHELD'. 'UNAVAILABLE' is reserved for situations where the CLI data is either not available or suppressed by the network.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'
