Tesco Clubcard grouping together

We want to use the Clubcard boost facility to buy a tablet for a family member.
As this is being bought as a joint present we thought we would combine clubcard vouchers together.
I am sure in the past we have been able to do this, however it seems they have changed their systems so you cant order with someone else's codes even if you have their permission unless they live in same address as yourself.
This is quite annoying as it means we have to pay despite having the amount in vouchers between 2 accounts.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've made five telephone calls and three emails and have been told it can't be done. It's never been a problem beforeJanuary GC 299/300
February GC 295/270
March GC 92/243 then lost the plot and stopped recording for two months and went way over
May GC 372/250 still looking for the plot

Just written my last complaint see below
Thank you for trying to help but this remains unresolved.
I am trying to buy a Singer sewing machine item 211-3636using two lots of Clubcard vouchers.
Last night I phoned the number you suggested below in your response who advised me to phone 0800 591688 to merge my vouchers.
This morning I phoned 0800 591688 to do exactly that. They advised they could not do so as the system was down but suggested I phoned 0800 3234050 to place my order by phone. however when I explained I wanted to double the value of the vouchers using Boost, they said I should phone 0808 1000707, which I did.
They couldn't help me and suggested that the number I should phone was 0845 6004411. I phoned that number and they said that they would be able to process my order using either my Clubcard plus vouchers or my Tesco credit card vouchers, not both. The most helpful suggestion they could make was that I used the vouchers against two separate purchases, which given that the item I am trying to buy is a single expensive item, was not at all helpful. I think at some point I made another call to 0800 3234050 as well, with no success. I was also told that as you are in the Clubcard mailing season, the facility to merge accounts will not be resolved until the end of December which will mean that the opportunity to double up with Boost will be missed.
I was given another telephone number to take a complaint 0800 505555 but by now I had lost an hour of my life that I will never get back again as well as the will to live.
I appreciate that you have in other ways made the system easier to use but this has been most frustrating and disappointing.January GC 299/300

It is part of the on-going security measures put in place - I think with Tesco Direct it goes back to March this year, where the on-line account needs to be the same as the one where the vouchers are.
Many people, for example, find their on-line account shows no vouchers -'but that can't be right I've got plenty' - just a case of changing the no in 'my account'.
Where you are trying to use vouchers belonging to two people, they need to be linked together first i.e. joint account.
Or two accounts in one name, merged into one.
A word of warning - if you physically have all your vouchers that's fine, because when accounts are merged you will only see one set of vouchers on-line!
Surprised the CC can't do this now (I'd check them again just in case) - otherwise it can be done on Monday.
Sorry, but you were misinformed about the 'merge facility' - yes it was restricted - but that period has now passed, so try the 0800591688 no again.
Tesco Direct - 08003234050 (formerly 08456004411) can only do what you could do on-line.

Thank you, I'll try again. As an auditor I completely understand the control measures lying behind the changes and in principle I think it's great that we don't have to key in hundreds of codes several times over. It's the confusion I've encountered from the various customer service people and the inability to resolve something quickly that has driven me up the wall.January GC 299/300
