TV: Repair or replace?

Hi,
I bought a Samsung Smart TV from Argos 2 months ago. Whilst watching it with the inbuilt tuner the screen flickers occasionally, like the back light suddenly brightens. This doesn't seem to happen when watching it from other sources like DVD's, Xbox etc. Now this is intermittent but still rather annoying. I've been in touch with Samsung and have tried all they have said but it still flickers unfortunately. Now I know my contract is with Argos so I'm going to return it. What I want to know is can they force a repair as I'd rather it was replaced as I'd be left with no television whilst it's away.
Can anyone shed any light on this please.
Thanks.

They have the choice I'm afraid,

Repair, replace or refund, they will obviously take the cheapest route.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Ask Samsung how long it will take if you send it to them or do they have engineers that visit. Check this before talking to the retailer.
  • Thanks for the replies. Samsung say I have to take it to the nearest repair centre, which is several hours from me. I'm going to have a bash at Argos, maybe they'll be nice and just swap it without an argument.
    Thanks again.

I have found Argos to pretty accommodating and they will normally swap an item straight away if they have it in stock.

If it only happens from one source it could well be caused by your aerial/dish or cabling particularly if it's intermittent and the recent weather could be causing it. Could you connecting to another aerial to see if it still happens?
