Micro SD cards

Is there any difference in cards that are specified for particular devices and cards that don't have any specification? I have an android tablet, it states that the memory can be expanded with a 32gb card. Looking on Amazon there are loads of different brands ( some have dodgy reviews, like they are fake ones) so I,m thinking that I should buy a branded one like Sandisk. However, different ones state that they are for particular devices, like Samsung galaxy etc. would I not be able to use one like this in my device?

Speed.
Class 10 is the fastest. Class 6 is acceptable. I am not recommend go for anything under that.
I don't know which one from amazon is fake or which brand is better. But I though if it sell by amazon directly, it should be fine.

Hi
I have been buying and using micro SD cards for many years. I get mine from 7Day shop and to date have never had a problem with them, they deliver quickly and no fakes

The problem usually happens when you buy from market place sellers on amazon, or places like play.com. If you buy direct from Amazon (says Dispatched from and sold by Amazon) then generally it wont be fake. Naturally most on the street stores of large brand names are the same, but also very much dearer.
Avoid buying off ebay for the same reason.
Buying one that says for X device wont make a difference if you use it in Y device, however there may be something on it already if it needs it, drivers, pre arranged folders, or similar, but in that case a quick format will clear it.
Stick with a brand you recognise, and you should be fine.0 -
7dayshop would be my first choice, then the likes of pixmania. I've been using both since the late 1990s1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Bought a 32gb from there last week for £16 inc delivery and works spot on. Gone up in price slightly now.

The one I was looking at on Amazon was supposed to be a Samsung card. From the way I interpreted the reviews it seems that the card itself was I branded but the adaptor that came with it was Samsung. When the card didn,t work, Samsung wouldn't,t replace them because they weren't genuine Samsung cards. Anyway, I do intend to buy a good quality card but I was hesitant about buying one that said it was for a particular device. I think you have all answered my question, so thanks for that. BTW, I have bought from 7dayshop previously and they have been very good.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

Sorry to disagree, but if memory is important to you, then go with more reliable brands. I've used Sandisk and Lexar CF and SD cards for years in cameras and other devices. I think I still have the first 32MB card I bought 14 years ago, and it still works.
Ask on any photography forum about memory cards. I don't know any pros that use Samsung.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
