How long to remove errors on file

Hi,

I thought I would check my credit score prior to mortgage application and was shocked to see a really poor credit score. It turns out Virgin have posted an arrears for 2 months about 14 months ago when I moved house and cancelled my contract with them. This was settled and they said it wouldnt go on my record (over the phone).

Also HSBC have marked me as 'arrangement to pay' on a credit card which had a balance of zero for the past 6 months???


Questions:
1) How long will it take to get errors corrected on my file if the creditor agrees?

2) How can I have an 'arrangement to pay' when I had nothing on my credit card???

Can be done very quickly if they want to, rather than leaving it for routine updates.

Sadly, the process of getting them to agree could take a while.

You need to complain in writing, but could call to try and speed the process up.

Did you have an arrangement on the card before the balance was zero?
