Good Evening All,
Ok my first post so please be patient with me.
I am looking for advice on the following. Back in 2008 I helped my brother out by getting him a mobile account in my name (silly I know). Last year he let the account default and subsequently a default was registered against my credit report (but not on all 3 CRA's). Am I correct in my assumption that there is nothing I can do to get this default removed from my file and placed on his?
Any advice will be very gladly accepted.
Regards to all.

Unfortunately, your are stuck with it. As the account is in your name your brother did not default - you did on the basis that it is your agreement with the phone company and therefore your responsibility to ensure that it is paid.0

Thanks for the replies. As I thought helpless. I was under the impression he cancelled this contract 3 years ago, he changed all the log in details and postal address so I was clueless. And as I used experian to view my credit file this was the one CRA that it was not registered on.
Many thanks guys.0 -
Is the default paid off now?
If not then it could be worth contacting the phone company and asking if they will remove the default in return for full payment.
It very unlikely - but it wouldn't hurt to try.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Yes, I checked and was settled last year. I will write and ask the question but I shall not hold my breath.0
