Post IVA - Card rejected from southern ticket machines BEFORE pin has been entered
Hello;
I had a lump sum IVA approved and completed last year, hooray!
I have a visa debit card from Co-op, no overdraft, hooray!
For past year or more, if I try and use the card on certain train ticket machines (I think southern , possibly another rail company as well) the machine just spits my card back at me, without even asking for a pin, saying it is unauthorised or something...cant quite remember what.
I have learnt to deal with this over time...but it is annoying and still does it. I spoke with co-op and they said nothing to do with them, and i have tried contacting southern trains via their antiquated customer service and got nowhere, after multiple emails...btw, my card works fine in the ticket office.
Has anyone else ever experienced this?

I too have the Co-Op visa debit card, but it works just fine in the ticket machines (I use SW Trains, and TFL).
Maybe it's Southern?0 -
Mine works fine on TFL / tubes etc, and I think Sw and first great western, is just southern and I think southeastern. I was wondering if I am on a black list somewhere due to IVA which makes these machines repulse my card, or whether its just a technical hitch....0

...probably just a hitch, unless somehow 'Southern Trains' are one of your creditors.0
