I expect GAME will use a similar device.
I think CEX do game repairs too.

Did you find this removes scratches?
I have games that I wanted to trade in which have scratches on. They work fine. In the past I have been told that I can trade in by they will knock a £1 off the price to clean it.
I am looking to buy something that is better than the ones from the pounds shop that don't work but won't cost me a fortune.0 -

Ah, good question.
It made the game playable again.
It resurfaces the disc so that the information, apparently stored deep below the plastic coating, can be read again.
The skipdr makes more scratches than it removes and the discs were always ugly afterwards.
I only managed to trade in a 'doctored' disc once. Mostly they were refused.
If you want to clean a disc before trading in then this is not what you want.
If you want to make a scratched disc play again then this should do the trick.
For a one off, like Anselm, it's probably worth paying Microsoft the £12 for a replacement.

Personally I'd rather take it into Game (or blockbusters) first and pay the £1 it costs and get it cleaned.
If that does not work (and I hear that it has a very high success rate) then, and only then would I go for the more expensive replacement option.
To do the reverse is not the moneysavers way...0 -
Any luck with the disc ?
Sorry not been on for a while, so I'll update you now. Game cleaned the disc, which looked almost new again and then I sold the game to Game for £39, so the game must still work or else they wouldn't take it I suppose.
