scratched disk

Options
Ok, so I got Ghosts, which I'm not particularly impressed with, and like a numpty I knocked the xbox over and scratched the disk. Now it's unrecognised. Is there any way to fix it?

Maybe take it to GAME, if they can do it it will cost 1£, worst they say is no.

So your not impressed with the game then, is that SP or MP or both ?

Cheers DC I'll do that tomorrow. Only played multiplayer so far, if I can get the game to work I'll stick with it for a bit, but I think it's just because everyone is camping and the maps are new.

What do Game actually do with it??

My kids have a wii game that's stopped working and looks like they've not taken enough care with it. I have tried to clea it but to no avail!
  • if Game cannot fix it, read the booklet inside the box you can get a replacement from the manufacturer for £12 (at least that's what is cost me earlier this year)

From what Ive seen is they put it in a disc repair machine for maybe a few seconds.

Have only used the service for games bought from them.

I bought a skipdr years ago and I have never yet failed to repair a disc.

I expect GAME will use a similar device.
I think CEX do game repairs too.

whack it in a disc-go-devil, skims the top layer off the disc removing scratches, if it's light scratching it's a 2 minute job, 5 for medium & 10 for "oh my god did you frisbee this thing over sandpaper?". Most scratches will be doable but well, some discs are just too far gone.

Thanks, that sounds well worth a shot as the replacement for the game is well overpriced!!

what sometimes works is to lend the game from a friend or rent so that you can do install to hard drive - then you just use the original disk at boot up (which will normally still read ok) and allow the game to play ok.. Did this in the past when sons games picked up some grooves and it worked out ok...
