How do you womble receipts?

Forgive me for the silly question but I keep seeing this mentioned. I understand for things like the price match vouchers given at sainsburys and that by finding those you can use them but what other ones are useful?
I saw someone refer to Costa ones today, what can you do with those?

Thanks

Aha. I didn't know you could get them added on afterwards, have a costa card but don't go in there much as there's a lovely bar in town that does nice coffee every day for only £1.

Are there any other receipts that are good to look out for?

    Hi Chrisfreelander.
Not sure if it is all the time,or just a promotional thing, but tesco often gives coupons for when your shop is more expensive than ASDA or Sainsbury,so worth looking out for those.
Tesco also often has 5p/litre off petrol promotions(I love those!).Definately worth collecting.Earlier this year they also had a "spend £40,get £5 off" coupon.
    Hope this helps

You can also pick up receipts in Tesco and if the person hasn't used their Clubcard you can get those added to your card - so a few extra points from time to time.

    To summarise:

Mr T receipts - womble any with a barcode, hence unused with a Clubcard[only up to 2 weeks old]. You will become attuned:-) Discarded 'Save x on your next shop' printouts are money in your hand. '5p off per litre petrol' promo is not a constant, but often abandoned. Check the Use By date. '£x off per £x shop' are commonly abandoned.

Noting your signature, remember your Mr T vouchers convert to useful holiday bolt-ons, and holidays/transport. As a YHA Life Member, I often use them, knowing it's a safe roof/secure parking with no 'real' money exchanged, if I'm on a buying trip.

    apologies joedenise - posts crossed.
I make it a point of honour:-) to womble double figure pts @every Mr T visit.

Thanks Ampersand, I'm already an avid clubcard points collector as have a Tesco CC (always paid off in full every month) and have just booked a "free" Eurotunnel crossing using them for next August for the holiday mentioned in my sig. Only slight problem is that the nearest MrT's is 14 miles away!

  • Thank you Sedge 123 for your post as I too have seen wombling mentioned and did not understand what it was.
Thank you to everyone who has replied but I'm still having trouble getting my head round it.
If you find a costa receipt you can pop in with your card and say something like I didn't have my card with me can you add my points.
If you find a Tesco receipt without a barcode on you can take it to the desk and say the same thing.
Now Asda is where I get confused. They say that there shop will be 10% cheaper and give you the difference back if it's not.Do people take the receipts home to check and see if they're viable and do they do it one at a time or take several receipts at once when collecting the difference?

As you can tell I've never done this and I'm a bit nervous that they're going to point and say 'that's not your receipt'!

    Many thanks for your patience
