What to do with random bits of holiday fabric
Options
Hi,
I have a bad habit of buying random bits of fabric when I am on holidays, with good intentions of doing 'something' with them. They are generally good quality, like rough silk, and usually with a distinctive colour or pattern. They tend to be in the red/orange/gold area, but not actually matching each other.
But I can't actually think of anything good to do with them, and my skills let me down a bit! There isn't enough for a set of cushions in any one fabric, or a nice bedspread. Any other ideas?
Skills wise I can do a little quilting, and I do have a sewing machine, so I'm willing to give things a try (with a fair bit of guidance). I'm very good at cross stitching (if I do say so myself) but I'm not sure if that helps me in this case.

What about something like rag rugging, here is a link to a website but Youtube is great for more inspiration.

Why not make a postage-stamp quilt, using small (postage-stamp sized) pieces of your non-matching fabrics? I think it would be a lovely holiday memento0
