My breakdown cover is set to expire in around 2 weeks or so, and they ARE the cheapest fully comp breakdown providers out there, but still wouldn't mind trying to get some sort of discount if I could
Also, I think the costs of being with a "spouse" far outweighs the cost savings it brings for couples
But still it's not bad I guess at £39/year

I don't think you'll have any chance.
It's an excellent deal.I think the costs of being with a "spouse" far outweighs the cost savings it brings for couples
Why don't you find a spouse earning more than you :-)0 -

You have nothing to lose trying a haggle at renewal! MSE urges it. (And autoaid do give offers to new customers)
It's covered in the MSE car breakdown guide:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/car-insurance/breakdown-cover
The guide points out a good success rate even when haggling with the smaller companies.Don’t just renew. Want to stick? HAGGLE, HAGGLE, HAGGLE
Say you'll leave unless you get a better deal.0 -

The point is they have offers for new customers so there is room to haggle, or leave!
You can always come back as a new customer if that's better than nothing!0
