Insurance vouchers

Hello, I recently broke my LCD tv,

Finally the company working for my insurance company have contacted me and told me they are going to give me Comet vouchers to get a new tv, they have recommended a suitable replacement to me over the phone.
The model I broke is no longer made, so they have suggested a similar model.

Do I have to purchase this model? The guy on the phone seemed to think it didn't matter, he just kept saying get what ever one you are happy with, it can be more or less money it doesn’t matter. If its more obviously you will have to pay the extra but apart from that there are no problems.

Is this ok, as I have seen a better model from a different manufacturer for around about the same price which looks as good as my original one but it has the added bonus of a pc input on it.

Thanks
Rob

The vouchers tie you to Comet but if you are happy with that then you are free to pick whatever TV you want. Comet get paid, you get a TV and the insurers have settled the claim in a way that costs them very little in admin - everyone's happy :)

Ok thanks for your post and information. I have never had to make a claim before, so I was unsure of the rules.

    Thanks Again, Rob :money:
