Applying for JSA for first time

Hi everyone,
I was made redundant from my job 2 weeks ago, and ever since been looking actively for work.
This is the first time I would need to apply for JSA, as I need some sort of income while I am looking to cover my bills.
I also recently (1 month ago) moved in with my partner and his mum - they both work. If I apply for JSA, will this affect anything at all , such as council tax ?
Thanks
