Thinking of throwing in the towel

After nearly 9 months of tension and stress I'm close to giving this whole "moving" thing a miss!
I've had difficulty securing a mortgage on the property I wish to buy (due to the property - not me) but after finally securing a good mortgage - on the date of exchange (5 months after we accepted the offer) my buyer pulled out leaving me with a substantial sols bill. We decided to go straight back on the market - had 1 viewing and had an offer on the table at the weekend - but that offer has now been withdrawn. All these factors are totally unrelated to each other - so I'm wondering what else could go wrong!?!

Just want some reassurance that this is all worth it in the end and hoping for some stories with a happy ending to keep my morale up!

30% of all sales collapse, that means 70% don't!

It's really your choice, how much do you want it to happen?
  • And I bet you are asking yourself, "Could I have done this differently?"

The best thing you can do is explain the issue to the seller of the house you want, and explain that you've lost a lot of cash because of this bad buyer of your house, and that if he can think of any thing better than waiting, then you'll be happy to listen.

Here's an idea. Could you become a reluctant land lord ? 2 blokes I work with still own thier first house, because they moved in with thier respective wife's when they got married (separately), and didn't need to sell.

Thanks for reading and replying. We (that is my husband and myself) really want the property we've had an offer accepted on (we have very limited options where property is concerned) and the vendors have so far been very patient with us but they have put it back on the open market although they have said they will still honour our original offer as soon as we get a buyer. They would also be willing to re-look at the price if we have to lower our price. So we can't ask for anything more from them.
So far the people who have viewed our house seem to like it so I guess it's now just a case of who gets a buyer first - us or the vedor of the house we want.
    It's just all very frustrating!!
