Recovering/Restoring Thunderbird Emails

I am trying to recover my SENT emails from a dead laptop - hard drive removed and plugged in to my desktop using a USB caddy.

The path is %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\XXXXXXXX.default\Mail\

Which gives access to the LOCAL folder
With sub folder SENT.SBD and a SENT file
The SENT.SBD folder also contains a SENT file

These two files can be opened using Wordpad

But which is the one that I need ? They are different sizes !!

Is there any free utility available to recover these emails as an EML - to allow me to restore them to my main PC ?

Use thunderbird to open the old profile
    see here http://kb.mozillazine.org/Starting_your_Mozilla_application_with_a_specified_profile

basically go to start then run and type in thunderbird -profile caddy-drive:\Users\yourname...etc\XXXXXXX.default . I would then use the import/export tools add-on to export and then import (you will/may need to get the add-on in each profile). Or if you are careful and take a backup you could edit your profiles.ini to add the old one and use thunderbird -ProfileManager
